Romania provides a dedicated immigration pathway for third-country nationals who are temporarily transferred within the same company or corporate group to a Romanian entity.
The Intra-Corporate Transfer (ICT) route is designed for managers, specialists and trainee employees who remain employed within the international corporate group while carrying out a temporary assignment in Romania.

Applications for granting or extending residence rights for employment or posting are generally processed within 30 Days.

Romania also provides mobility rules for third-country nationals who already hold a valid ICT permit issued by another EU Member State.
These applicants may be able to carry out part of their intra-corporate transfer in Romania under Mobile ICT rules.
An ICT worker holding a valid ICT permit issued by another EU Member State may carry out qualifying activities in Romania for limited periods under EU mobility rules.
Under the current Romanian legal framework, relevant short-term mobility periods can be limited to up to 90 days in any 180-day period, subject to the applicable notification and posting requirements.
