Temporary Residence & Work Permit

Live & Work in Poland

← Back to Poland

Poland provides a combined Temporary Residence and Work Permit for qualifying third-country nationals who intend to live and work in Poland for more than three months.

The permit combines residence and employment authorisation within a single immigration procedure.

CETO Global Immigration Consulting & Partners assists international professionals and Polish employers in assessing eligibility and coordinates the immigration process together with qualified legal and immigration professionals.

What is the Temporary Residence & Work Permit?

The Temporary Residence and Work Permit is one of Poland's principal immigration pathways for third-country nationals who intend to live and work in Poland for a period exceeding 3 months.

The permit is connected to the employment conditions specified in the immigration procedure.

Who Can Apply?

The pathway can potentially be relevant for:

  • Skilled Workers
  • Qualified Employees
  • International Professionals
  • Technical Workers
  • Manufacturing Employees
  • Service-Sector Employees
  • Foreign Specialists
  • Other Eligible Third-Country Nationals

The applicant must satisfy the applicable Polish immigration and employment requirements.

Polish Employer & Documentation

The applicant generally requires qualifying employment in Poland. The employer plays an important role in the application and must complete the applicable employer attachment to the residence application.

The employment documentation identifies important conditions including:

  • Employer
  • Position
  • Type of Work
  • Working Hours
  • Remuneration
  • Employment Conditions

Under Poland's electronic MOS procedure, the relevant employer documentation must be digitally signed by an authorised representative of the employer.

Party to the Proceedings

The employer is involved in providing the required employment documentation.

However, the foreign worker is the party to the residence proceedings. The employer itself is not the party to the Temporary Residence and Work Permit proceedings.

Minimum Salary – 2026

The remuneration declared for the residence and work application must satisfy the applicable Polish requirements. For 2026, the required remuneration must generally be at least 4,806 PLN gross per month.

The salary must also not be lower than the remuneration received by employees performing comparable work in the same working time.

4,806 PLN Gross Per Month

Part-Time & Multiple Employers

Part-time employment can potentially qualify. However, the 2026 threshold of 4,806 PLN gross per month applies regardless of whether the proposed employment is full-time, part-time, or other eligible working time.

A foreign national can potentially obtain the permit while working for more than one employer. In such circumstances, each employer must complete the applicable employer documentation. The combined monthly remuneration can be taken into account when assessing the minimum salary requirement.

Multiple Employer Example

Important: If the combined monthly remuneration reaches the required minimum threshold, the salary requirement can potentially be satisfied.

Employer A

Provides part-time employment.

Employer B

Provides additional part-time employment.

Key Eligibility Factors

  • Health Insurance: The applicant must have appropriate healthcare coverage in Poland.
  • Accommodation: Holding a legal title to residential premises is not currently an eligibility condition for this particular permit.
